Tournament Bound

As I've mentioned before, Tuesday is Big Girl golf. Tomorrow and Wednesday involve a tournament, and I'm playing in it. It's called an "Eclectic" tournament which puts a good golfer with a not-so good one, and by now you know which of those is me. The first day you play and score as usual. You combine your net scores and then on the second day, you play to try and improve. If you don't improve, you just keep the score you had for that hole from the previous day.
I was kind of nervous about being paired with this one particular player that I've never even met. But I've seen her, and she pretty much ignores me. But I'm told she's just "different" - like a blonde living in her own little world. Call it uppity, or different - neither characteristic made me comfortable. Plus Alice got paired with her last year and told me it was not the most pleasant experience for her.
When the draw was done two days ago, I stopped by the pro shop and learned I was paired with someone I've met at an exercise class, and I was thrilled. But then yesterday I found out they're going to have to re-draw, because 3 players have dropped out. Now I don't find out who I'm paired with until tomorrow, which will be too late to back out. Nah, I wouldn't do that anyway as it's not my nature. My good friend, who is also a good golfer, told me that most of the good golfers will be happy to find out they're paired with me because I get lots of strokes, due to my high handicap. So stay tuned . . .
PS: I had my husband give me a sand lesson and when we played yesterday, I got in the same sand trap as the one from the other day that took 7 strokes to get out. I was out in 1. WOOHOO!
